What you’ll be doing
This role is part of a dynamic, fast-paced team focused on always ensuring the protection of public health in the delivery of a wholesome water supply. This Drink Water Safety Plan Scientist role is responsible for the completion of water quality audits and risk assessments by the Company and Drinking Water Inspectorate regulatory requirements.
This is a varied and interesting role with day-to-day duties including:
- Completion of Drinking Water Safety Plan Audits (DWSPAs) of water treatment works and other assets as required and by the annual audit program. This is the completion of site audits and technical evaluation of performance data.
- Utilise information from site audits and other data to complete relevant Drinking Water Safety Plans risk assessments upon the company system ( drinking water safety plans IT system ). This shall be in complete compliance with Company procedures and other accreditation requirements.
- Assessment of non-compliances identified, advising upon appropriate remedial action and allocation of action owners. Serious deficiencies which represent unacceptable risks within Drinking Water Safety Plans should be escalated immediately.
- Maintain records to Drinking Water Inspectorate auditable standard.
- Provide water quality technical guidance and support event teams when there is a risk to quality.
We’re looking for you to
- To have a degree in a relevant scientific discipline
- This role involves travel to other sites and you will need a clean driving license
- It would be an advantage if you have a good understanding of current legislation and regulations surrounding water quality
