If you like practical things like servicing and cleaning equipment, this is the role for you. You’ll make our wheelchairs clean and safe for people to get moving again after illness or injury. Ideally you will live within 10 miles of the volunteering opportunity. We would like volunteers who are available for a minimum of 4 hours on a weekday between 9am and 5pm. **Health and Safety Statement** We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need. Why we want you: We need volunteers to clean and maintain our equipment. We believe that everyone who needs a wheelchair should get one and each year we hire out or loan over 75,000 wheelchairs to help people to get around after an injury or illness. You will be joining a friendly team and will have the satisfaction of ensuring that a clean, safe piece of equipment is ready for the next person.
- Tasks: Clean, maintain and service our wheelchairs and other equipment.
Help to load/unload wheelchairs.
Use a computer-based stock control system.
- Skills: Practical and able to undertake cleaning/maintenance tasks.
Physically fit and able to lift/move wheelchairs.
Good IT skills.
Able to commit to a regular weekly shift.
