NJC Scale Points 23-25, starting at £30,151 pa / pro rata
22.5 hours per week
This role is fixed term for up to 2 years, with the possibility of extension
The aim of the Wakefield Safe Space is to divert people, who would be better supported elsewhere, away from Accident and Emergency (A&E) and other crisis services in Wakefield District. The project will be delivered in partnership with Spectrum People and GASPED.
The Wakefield Safe Space is open 6 evenings a week between the hours of 6pm – 12am. The service provides a non-clinical setting to support 12 individuals at a time to access support in a crisis, as an alternative to A&E. The post holder will support people in acute distress, including 1-2-1 support, support planning and liaising with local services.
We wish to recruit someone with personal experience of mental distress, and substantial experience of supporting people in crisis, including working with people at risk of suicide and self harm, and supporting people from BME and LGBTQ+ communities.
