HYBRID ROLE
Purpose of The Post
We're helping one of the UK’s largest payment provider’s find a VP of Platform. The successful candidate’s mission is to help improve the developer experience for the company’s internal engineering community. So they’ll need to understand how to assess what a good product looks like for an engineering customer base and the effectiveness of the teams that they oversee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empower squads to create and deliver amazing internal products and services, set context, and provide regular coaching and guidance on priorities as per need
- Lead and develop all members of the team (hiring, onboarding, goal setting, career development, feedback and performance management), supported by the relevant Chapter Leaders
- Create and drive a high performing culture that is aligned to the ambitions of the company
- Establish and work towards clear goals and achieve KPIs with pace and technical excellence
- Partner with other VPs, and functional leaders to align on priorities and remove blockers for the team's progress
- Champion the sourcing and management of decentralised, self-service data products at scale across the company
- Drive adoption of solutions and services that measurably lower cognitive load across all departments, balancing between short vs long time horizon gains
- Evangelise Data,fostering a “data as a product” mindset in the engineering org
Skills and Experience required:
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and often ambiguous arenas, creating clarity and direction for team members
- A history of working with distributed systems, leading teams to architect
- highly resilient, responsive systems that scale
- Thinking Big: Ability to translate external trends into industry leading products and shape strategy accordingly
- Drives results: Proven ability to deliver enduring high-performance, using data, making tough decisions to keep teams on track of their mission
- Influencing collaboratively: Strong strategic internal & external relationships and track record of influencing senior colleagues to create better results
- Leading empowered teams: Demonstrated experience leading people from multiple disciplines to contribute to the overall vision and goals, growing them into innovators and strategic leaders
Skills and Experience preferred:
- Experience from CEO role/multi-disciplinary leader in a start-up or scale up, ideally but not necessarily a FinTech
- P&L responsibility
- Experience working in an international business
- Experience within financial onboarding
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £200,000.00-£250,000.00 per year
