The VP of Finance and Accounting is a key addition to our management team to oversee the accounting systems and processes for our dynamic Software as a Service (SaaS) business. The position reports to the COO and oversees our finance, accounting and analytics team. We are seeking someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves to have a big impact in building a company which values its employees and customers. The successful candidate will be a driven and hardworking qualified accountant with a very strong technical background, excellent communication skills and high business and commercial acumen.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead finance, accounting and business analytics team and develop team members
- Prepare management and financial accounts and reports
- Implement robust financial and operational processes and procedures
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
- Produce useful and meaningful board materials for the quarterly meetings
- Manage external banking relationships
- Support commercial decision making
- Oversee contract review from an accounting perspective to include understanding and recommendations for taxes and withholding
- Effectively manage working capital and investor reporting in regards to cash flow and budgeting
- Drive various strategic projects and initiatives within the business
- Prepare for fundraising and lead financial discussions
- Analyze leading and lagging indicators of the business and recommend improvements
- Oversee insurance issues relating to operational aspects of the business
- Ensure all financials ready for annual audits
- Oversee tax issues working with external providers
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Business or Accounting/Finance degree
- Minimum 15 years experience in accounting in various roles, ideally in a high growth organization
- Minimum 10 years experience in management of accounting and finance teams
- Exposure to international operations, tax, and contract review
- Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
- Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
- Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
- Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
- Self reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively
