Our surgery is located on St Andrews Road North in Lytham, the heart of St Annes on Sea on the Fylde Coast, just a few miles south of Blackpool. This is the ideal location for someone who enjoys the coast and outdoors for their days off but is also under an hour and half from both Manchester and Liverpool City Centres, if you are more of city explorer in your free time.
The practice is joint owned by one of our Vets and our Head Veterinary Nurse who holds a certificate in anaesthesia. They are joined by a great team of one other Vet, 1 RVN, 2 SVN’s and 3 Receptionists who ensure that the Vets can concentrate on their role. Our nurses in practice love to get fully involved and help to ease the pressure on the vets so they undertake as much Schedule 3 as possible. We are looking for a vet who would also be able to assist with the Schedule 3 work.
Lytham run a 15-minute sick pet consult, and 15-minute boosters and have a different approach to their dental procedures as they stage them, with the initial assessment being done by the registered nurses. In practice they also have dental radiographs and have a nurse who is looking to do a certificate in dentistry, so if this is something you have an interest in, we would be able to support and encourage it.
We are looking for an experienced vet, who has at least two years of working in a small animal practice and is confident doing sole charge in the practice. We are open to both part- and full-time candidates as we can offer anything from 20-40 hours per week. We are not currently open on the weekends however we are looking to open on a Saturday morning (8am-12 noon), and this would be on a 1 in 3 rota basis.
For this position we can offer a salary of up to £65k, which is dependent upon experience. In addition, you will employee discount of 20% in Vets4Pets, the Groom Room and Pets at Home, along with our other employee benefits.
