Role: Verification Engineer
Division: Marine & Offshore, North Sea Offshore Operations
Location: Aberdeen - travel required in the UK, offshore and internationally.
Package: £45,000 - £60,000 salary pa dependent on experience and varying seniority.

What the role involves
Role purpose: To complete verification activities in line with Duty Holders documentation and current applicable legislation. Ongoing onshore / offshore examinations and assessments for installations such as FPSOs, platforms, semi-submersibles, subsea and onshore terminals.
- Surveys, examinations, maintenance / inspection reviews and technical audits onshore / offshore against Performance Standards and International Standards or Client Specifications
- Provide clear and concise technical reports in line with BV reporting guidelines
- Responsible for technical and quality of personal and supervised personnel deliverables during performed Verification services, both written and verbal
- Assist in the development and / or implementation of Verification Schemes in accordance with UK legislation
- Keep personal competency and CPD records updated
- Peer review, supervise or audit work and reports completed by other engineers
- Act as a mentor to less experienced engineers/new employees
- If required, act as focal point for client(s)
- If required, lead team of engineers for a client
- If required, report on budgets and progress statistics
- To take responsibility for your own actions to support the company in achieving its health & safety goals and environmental objectives.
Who we are looking for
Demonstrable engineering experience in Verification / surveyor / engineer / QA/QC / inspection or maintenance roles. Delegation of Authority Profile M&O-6. Mustt be authorised by the Technical Manager or Nominated Deputy before commencement of Duties and Responsibilities.
- Experience of construction, commissioning or operation of Offshore Installations an advantage
- For Pressure Equipment related Roles in line with UKAS RG2 Qualification Category 2 Requirements
- Good Understanding of UK Safety Case Legislation, its implementation and interactions required
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at all levels to discuss issues and resolve problems
- Ability to work simultaneously for multiple projects and clients involving varied technical challenges
- Offshore & Project Management experience
- Experience in leading teams
- Knowledge of safety management systems and certification compliance
- Able to travel in UK, offshore and internationally to meet our client needs
- HNC / HND / Degree in an engineering discipline or Industry equivalent sufficient for the person to carry out the functions of an independent and competent person to meet the requirements of the Safety Case Regulations.
- Membership of recognised Professional Institution or Engineering Council (at appropriate level) preferred
