Job description

We are looking for an experienced appliance installation technician to perform daily deliveries and installation of appliances to customers homes and businesses. Position offered is for a contract (1099). Driving supplied box truck to complete delivery orders within a limited area. Driver is expected to carry out orders for customers satisfaction and will be assisted on truck with a helper laborer. Orders are offered Monday-Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Compensation is based on stop count and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials via box truck to customers.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Installation of appliances

Skills

• Commercial driving experience.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
• Ability to use hand
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid driving license
