Opportunities at Female Only IRC
We're looking for people to create a brand new team based at our new Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), as part of our newly acquired contract. Individuals will have experience in relating to people that may be agitated or confused by their circumstances and are able to interact and assist potentially vulnerable individuals whilst in our care. Empathy and resilience are key attributes for this role.
You will be passionate about delivering a great service in a sensitive manner, along with good communication skills and a team player. The ability to remain calm under pressure and experience in problem solving would also be advantageous to developing your career within Care and Custody.
Job Overview
Organise and run the shop ensuring stock items and levels meet customer demand, providing a welcoming and positive customer experience.
Main Duties
- Organise and manage personally allocated area of work related to the smooth running of the shop so that the work is completed effectively and efficiently.
- Welcome and serve all customers in a timely manner to ensure the smooth running of the shop area.
- Process orders as required in line with customer demand and company procedures, including arranging collection and delivery of ordered items, to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained at all times.
- Refill the kiosks within the Centre as and when required but at least on a daily basis to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Deal with cash in a safe and secure manner adhering to company procedures at all times.
- Create and maintain manual and computer records and files such that records are up to date and information can be accessed readily.
- Complete documentation in a timely manner consistent with company standards of efficiency and accuracy.Use, handle, transport and store equipment and materials securely and correctly at all times to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Undertake emergency out of hours call outs as required to maintain the centre facilities.
- Notify relevant staff of stock levels so that the availability of materials is maintained.
- Undertake all notifications of change to the establishment ensuring compliance with the relevant standards.
The shop is open at the following times, for 9.5 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- 0900-1200
- 1300-1700
- 1830-2100
So it will be 11 hours shifts with an hour off for lunch at 1200-1300 to cover 6 days and one day a week where both shop assistants are in. This means you would do 3 x 11 hours shifts and 1 x 7 hour shift a week and be on rest days for the remainder of the days.
