Job description
We are a welding, fabrication and engineering business with two locations (Tewkesbury & Bredons Norton GL20) looking to expand our production capacity. We are looking for a 3.5T Truck Driver/General Operative to join our team and help our production move more efficiently.
Supplying the agricultural and information security industries, you will be responsible for driving and delivering goods to our customers, a wide range of workshop duties including, but not limited to, machine operation, drilling, sawing, tapping, picking, packing and other general workshop duties.

We are recruiting for a 3.5T Truck Driver/General Operative
Typical Responsibilities will include those listed above as well as:
- Driving a 3.5T Truck with a trailer (Tacho card needed)
- Working in the paint shop
- Work planning – Ensuring you are staying ahead of required parts and working with the unit supervisors to make sure jobs are completed in time and as required.
- Attention to detail – Checking kits/batches of parts to make sure they conform to engineering drawings and that quantities are correct. Making sure parts are neat, tidy, well finished and ready for welders to work on.
- Developing the role. An engineering business offers a lot of learning opportunities. We have skilled laser, brake press, welders and fabricators on staff who will require assistance on certain jobs and can pass on their knowledge and lead you towards a more rounded skill set.
Skills, Knowledge and experience:
- Manual handling of parts. Forklift experience a bonus but not essential.
- Experience in a workshop environment, ideally in the metalworking industry is a bonus but not essential.
- Ability to manage the workload and plan ahead for your next task with a supervisor.
- Have a good eye for detail and able to work in a methodical manner to a high level of quality.
- Able to do some repetitive work to the same standard, consistent quality, consistent times.
