Job description

The M80 DBFO network is one of the most strategically important and busiest sections of Motorway in the country, connecting Glasgow and Edinburgh/Stirling and serving as the main north-south corridor in Scotland.

It is preferable that the TRISS Operative, reporting to the Operations Supervisor, should have experience working on roads and in traffic management, with the necessary skills to carry out various minor road maintenance operations. Training can be provided if necessary.


Responsibilities and Activities

To provide quick initial response to all types of incidents on the network to ease congestion and provide updates via control room where necessary.


Role includes:

  • Carry out TRISS patrols over the network extents of the M80 DBFO
  • Assist Police and members of the public
  • Debris removal and litter picking
  • Minor repairs
  • Traffic monitoring
  • Respond to incidents as required
  • Offer assistance/report break-downs
  • Inspections as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Confident and considerate attitude
  • Experience & qualifications within road maintenance and traffic management
