JOB DESCRIPTION – TRAVEL ESCORT

JOB PURPOSE
Have individual responsibility in accordance with the practices and procedures of the local authority for attending to the comfort, security and safety of passengers whilst being transported to and from appropriate establishments.

MAIN DUTIES
1 Ensure vehicle doors are kept closed and that no passenger boards or leaves the vehicle whilst it is in motion.
2 Maintain a safe environment consistent with Health & Safety needs at all times and especially while the vehicle is in transit.
3 Provide physical assistance (includes where appropriate the use of mechanical aids), assist passengers to cross the road and ensure passengers remain seated and where necessary are appropriately secured in their seats.
4 Carry medication and messages between passenger's home and school.
5 Maintain professional boundaries of confidentiality at all times.
6 Undertake any other duties which may be allocated as and when required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 2- 30 per week
Salary: £10.50 per hour
