Do you want to help us reach the dogs that need our help? Do you want us to be even better at caring for dogs until transfer to a rehoming centre? We are looking for a Transfer Coordinator to join the team at our Rehoming Centre in Ballymena.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they are able to find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.

As Transfer Coordinator, you'll work closely with external organisations and the Dogs Trust transfer team to faciliate the safe transport of dogs in our care. This key role plays a cruical logistical part in our rehoming process, which contributes to our wider goal of ensuring as many dogs as possible are rehomed. If you'd like to know more details about this role, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] for more information.

To be successful in this role you must combine an excellent knowledge of dogs; their behaviour and handling with experience of working in a kennel, rehoming or welfare environment. You will also play a key role in building relationships with external organisations, members of the public and our volunteers.
