The division employs over 9,000 people working in a chilled environment to process poultry products which are then marketed to UK consumers via major retailers.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Training and Competency Manager will have responsibility for the management, coordination and administration of a range of learning and development activities and projects as directed by the HR Manager and central UKP Learning and Development team. They will manage and develop Site learning & training, contribute to the business success by training and developing our people, ensuring the workforce is able to meet the changing needs of the business and that compliance is maintained. The day-to-day responsibilities will include:
· Managing and delivering inductions
· Training administration
· Performance development
· Ensuring that training records and systems are accurate, updated and maintained
· Be the first point of contact for learning and development queries at site level and be responsible for ensuring all training activities are carried out in an efficient and effective manner
· Delivering learning events, carrying out learning needs and skills assessments, and helping to develop competency frameworks and plans for the site
· Ensure compliance with training bodies
· Taking ownership of developing practical and feasible plans across the year and review this on an annual basis

· Level 2 Food Safety – Level 3 if delivering, Level 2 HACCP, and Basic Health & Safety
· L&D qualification such as L&D Business Consultant, CIPD Level 5
· Experience of working in a FMCG environment, ideally within the training function
· Experience of how to effectively deliver training
· Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Have good knowledge and experience of modern training and competency approaches, processes and systems
· Excellent written communication skills, particularly the preparation of procedural documents, manuals, formal reports and correspondence with the client and senior management.
