Overview of role
As Trainee Digital Marketing Executive at Target, you’ll be developing your skillset as an apprentice and supporting cross-department between paid search, paid social and creative.
This is a unique role operating at the crossroads of our internal teams; you will be exposed to an array of brand and campaigns, in your first year with a view to niching down and finding your specialism (e.g. SEO, Paid Media, Creative etc) in year two.
The role is dynamic and therefore requires a tenacious, confident and intelligent individual with a varied skill set and the willingness to learn at pace. An analytical mind and demonstrable numerical ability is important, with a logical approach to problem solving.

You will report into the Head of Strategy.
Responsibilities of the role
- Be forthcoming with new ideas and experiment with new technologies, ensuring that our clients remain at the forefront of the social-sphere - staying ahead of the curve with latest social media trends, big-idea thinking and pushing the boundaries of creativity.
- Shooting video content on DSLR camera and iPhone when required, and supporting the Head of Design with scheduling & publishing content on platforms such as Meta and TikTok.
- Helping to coordinate social campaigns by liaising with influencers, measuring KPIs and conceptualising giveaways and competitions.
- Driving standards by proofing copy (spelling, grammar and tone of voice) and creative (on-brand, aesthetic) - ensuring that we’re proud of everything that we put our name to.
- Be responsible for tracking the growth (against the client’s KPIs/briefs) and sharing this information with external and internal stakeholders in the form of monthly reports.
- Developing clear written plans to drive growth for our clients. For example: quarterly campaign plans, content calendars, growth reports, trends reports and creative moodboards, clearly presenting your ideas, and backing them up with data and research.
- Support the Paid Media Manager with the planning, building and optimisation of paid social campaigns, predominantly on Facebook/Instagram and TikTok.
- Learning how to interpret and glean insights from data sources including Google Analytics. Learning best practice methodologies for paid social advertising platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Pinterest & Snapchat
- Analysing industry and channel data for our partners, in order to identify trends and create forecasts. Helping to collate and present monthly reports to clients using tools such as Google Data Studio & Microsoft Excel.
- Establish meaningful and engaging relationships with clients via email, video conference, Slack and in-person, ensuring they receive total transparency and are well informed.
- Work with the Head of Strategy on additional activities to support the wider performance marketing team as and when required, including assisting in the creation of new business proposals, internal process documentation, and reporting structures.
- Undertake in-house and external training in-line with the development schedule to maintain momentum on skills & knowledge growth.
