Description of the Business Line or Department
The aim of our Service Unit (GBSU) is to deliver day-to-day services to GBIS Business Units and their clients to accelerate the transformation. GBSU is organised under the following structure:
- A transversal client group
- Eight service and product orientated entities
- A transversal data entity
- Seven centres of expertise
Within each of these groups are dedicated Information Technology (IT) & OPER (Operations) teams who are aligned with the mandate of the Support Unit groups.
The aim of the IT teams of GBIS is to translate ideas into action by combining the strength of expertise in IT with a deep understanding of investment banking. While the OPER teams are in charge of processing and controlling transactions initiated by the GBIS business lines.
The Fixed Income and Currencies business line gives access to a large scope of exposure and opportunities across Interest Rate, Foreign Exchange, Inflation and Multi-asset universes. Supported by extensive research, engineering, trading and e-commerce capabilities, we offer strategic insights strategy, flow information, competitive pricing and seamless execution to our clients across rates, credit, FX and emerging markets.
This role is for a trainee software developer for the Credit team to work in partnership with the Credit trading team. The team is responsible for the Pricing and E-trading Tools used by the trading desks in London, Paris, New York and Hong Kong. The technology used is C# with Docker/Kubernetes front to back and Scrum based methodology.

Summary of responsibilities
Development
- Collaborating with users to understand user needs and translate requirements into systems
- Reviewing and designing the architecture for the new systems
- Build applications for various front office businesses
- Collaborate with other teams (networking, support, architects, others development teams)
- Estimating effort and ensuring timely delivery
- Ensuring agile and continuous delivery methodology is followed
Profile required
Competencies
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or BTEC in Computer Science or Similar
Must have experience
- Basic coding experience
Good to have experience
- Good C# knowledge and Unit Testing
- Understanding of WPF
- Web Api with .Net Core and WCF
- Experience in multithreaded application development
- Working with Git/ GitFlow and TeamCity
- Microservices design and implementation knowledge and specially Docker/Kubernetes
- Using and implementing Elastic Search
- MS SQL Server knowledge
- Working in an Agile development team
- Understanding of dependency injection, IoC
- Working with enterprise level messaging middleware (Tibco EMS, TREP/RMDS) and QuickFix
- Experience with RabbitMq
- Unit Testing with NUnit and Moq
- Interest in or experience with Azure
