Salary: £35,392 - £42,618 per annum/pro rata

The post holder will act as a Radiopharmacy Technician in providing a high quality and specialist radiopharmacy service to meet the needs of the Medway NHS Foundation Trust and neighbouring nuclear medicine departments under Service Level Agreements and play a significant role in the aseptic preparation activities in a licensed radiopharmacy.
Preparation activities include reconstitution of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals to EU Good Manufacturing Practice whilst ensuring compliance with the standard provisions for the Medway NHS Foundation Trust Manufacturer’s ‘Specials’ Licence and all other relevant provisions/guides/EC Directives where applicable to licensed activities.
Radiolabelling of blood products, routine and non-routine product and equipment related quality control testing to defined protocols as laid down in the Radiopharmacy Quality Manual will also be performed.

The Radiopharmacy consists of a team of friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking multidisciplinary professionals who strive to provide the best possible clinical radiopharmacy service to all of its users.
Your main responsibility is the day-to-day delivery of a comprehensive clinical radiopharmacy service which includes the reconstitution of radiopharmaceutical products under the terms of our manufacturing licence, radiolabelling of blood products, routine and non-routine quality control testing of products and equipment.
You will be expected to actively participate in service improvement and maintenance of the quality management system to ensure compliance with the principles of EU GMP.
Perform physical environmental monitoring of the Radiopharmacy including temperature monitoring of the facility and refrigerators, room pressure differential monitoring, routine checking of isolators and radionuclide dose calibrators and microbiological monitoring to written schedules to ensure compliance with current standards and report all quality exceptions to the Production Manager and/or the QA Manager. Record all results in the appropriate records.
Perform a range of routine and non-routine laboratory and radiopharmaceutical quality control tests to defined protocols as laid out in the Radiopharmacy Quality Manual, ensuring that all quality control testing results are accurately recorded on the appropriate logs and that any quality exceptions found is immediately reported to the Radiopharmacy QA Manager and/or the Radiopharmacy Production Manager.
