Job description

We have a new vacancy for a Technician to effectively sample a range of building materials based out of our Back Lane office laboratory in Carnforth.

As a Technician you will safely and effectively sample, test and report results of all sand, aggregate and bituminous products produced or consumed in the operating Area in accordance with the relevant EN Specifications, Company Internal Management Systems, Environmental and Health & Safety Policies. You will be flexible and willing to work in a rapidly changing environment able to work extended hours on occasions as required.

What will you bring?

  • Practicable knowledge of all aspects of Quarrying, Asphalt, sand and gravel production methods.
  • Able to communicate and present information Comfortable in dealing with Management.
  • Previous experience within the Industry or a similar quality control environment is desirable.
  • PC Skills including IT systems, Analytical skills and Interpersonal skills.
  • Verbal skills to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and other tasks.
  • Flexible “hands on approach” to problem solving.
  • Necessitates a full driving licence with the requirement to be mobile to cover the geographic area of responsibility.
