What you’ll be doing
As a Tech Lead, you will report into the Head of Architecture & Strategy, leading on the development and adoption of software engineering processes and practices that deliver performant, scalable, and secure technical solutions across Private Treaty and Auction products/projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, business analysts, and developers to plan and estimate software engineering activities for Private Treaty and Auction product enhancements and projects.
You will be responsible for
- You will develop and review software engineering policies, methods, standards, and guidelines for Private Treaty and Auction product development, ensuring continuous improvement.
- You will educate, drive, measure and monitor the adoption of, and adherence to, these software engineering policies, methods, standards, guidelines, methods, tools and techniques across Private Treaty and Auction delivery teams.
- You will design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor complex programs/scripts and integration software services.
- You will proactively participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure code quality and that products are developed according to industry best practices and standards.
- As a Tech Lead, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced software engineers, whilst also staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies to ensure the company stays ahead of the competition.
What skills and experience you’ll bring
· You will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in software development, with a focus on PHP and AWS cloud computing technologies.
· You will have previous experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, and with PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
· You will have a strong understanding of software architecture patterns and principles, and agile development methodologies.
· Familiarity with containerisation and microservices architecture would be desirable but not essential.
