Market Risk Technology is responsible for providing JP Morgan's Risk Managers with the capability to assess the financial impact of various adverse market scenarios at a firm wide level. This capability covers calculations, scenario analysis, analytics, reporting and other tools and processes required to manage risk. Our team develop the firm’s strategic Calculation (e.g. VaR, Stress), Time Series, and Scenario Management platforms for Firmwide Market Risk which integrate with our front-office risk management systems.

Job responsibilities
Business Analysis
- Provide business and data analysis to large, cross line-of-business initiatives. Collaborate with Product Owners to interpret and define business requirements; translate into functional requirements.
- Help build and maintain the team backlog; organise and edit materials as required on the team’s Confluence site.
- Create and maintain diagrams and document systems and processes for the benefit of team members, technology and business stakeholders, and regulators.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps. Create and define milestones in partnership with business sponsors including the acceptance criteria.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner across various technology and operational groups; functional SMEs; key business stakeholders & consumers, in the design and delivery of strategic Market Risk stress calculation capabilities for the firm.
- Facilitate interactions between business stakeholders and the MR Stress Technology team. Organise and lead workshops to gather and define requirements, share details, and resolve issues.
- Represent the team in in certain Market Risk forums. Bring potential business challenges to the leads’ attention.
Project Delivery
- Help manage one or more fast-paced projects that have significant impact on the business.
- Lead multiple groups and stakeholders towards solutions, resolve issues/risks, and gain agreement on timelines & milestones.
- Develop project plans, metrics, risk/issues as well as development, and occasional presentation of, project status reports / updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Collaborate with the development team to elaborate stories; agreeing with business sponsors on the acceptance criteria; and getting the business sponsors’ sign-offs prior to releases.
- Maintain our control environment by ensuring projects are completed in accordance with all Risk, Control and other relevant firmwide guidelines.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Good knowledge of business processes and data analysis; an ability to construct complex data queries; functional design.
- Ability to liaise between lines of business and development teams, translating strategic goals into technology solutions, and vice versa
- Ability to establish and build strong relationships and partnerships within cross-functional technology teams
- Experience in project/program management, including scheduling and budgeting
- Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to listen effectively and credibly present ideas; and good interpersonal skills that allow the individual to effectively interact with different levels of management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including SharePoint, Excel (e.g., pivot tables), and PowerPoint.
