In a nutshell
In other organisations, this role might be known as an HR Business Partner, Junior Talent Partner or Talent Development Specialist among others, but no matter what your role title is, we’re looking for someone with experience of managing and influencing stakeholders, analysing data to provide useful insight, and developing talent within a large, complex organisation.
As a Talent Delivery Consultant, you will play an important role in supporting the development of colleagues and the delivery of talent plans. You’ll have responsibility for arranging key talent and development initiatives ranging from facilitating talent reviews to division specific development requirements. You’ll ensure that we identify and develop the best talent strengthen teams across the business, and deliver on our group aims for diversity, inclusion, and progression. You will also work closely with the Heads of Talent to support the delivery of a strategic talent plan for a business area(s).
What you need to do
- In collaboration with the Head of Talent, assess the effectiveness of the current workforce to meet current and future business objectives, identifying resource, skills/capability gaps to build strategic talent plans for each business area(s).
- Work with the Head of Talent to recognise the need for recruitment campaigns and collaborate with the Group Resourcing function to clearly define requirements and scope campaigns to attract and recruit great colleagues.
- Nurture high potential colleagues within their business area and uses existing talent frameworks to support their development.
- Support the job evaluation process for roles within your business area, ensuring they are evaluated fairly and consistently, in addition ensuring the roles have been benchmarked so that reward packages are equitable and in line with similar roles both internally and externally.
- Analyse and manipulate key talent/HR data across stakeholder group to support talent plans.
- Support the Head of Talent in facilitating talent reviews with key stakeholders, ensuring processes and tools are used effectively and key activities completed in a timely manner.
- Build relationships and work collaboratively with the broader network of Talent Delivery Consultants and the Centres of Excellence to ensure we’re working in the most effective way possible and delivering value for our stakeholders.
What you need to know and show
- A good understanding of general HR principles, including talent management, resourcing practices.
- Experience of working with corporate functions, ideally in a large business.
- A detailed understanding of the diversity and inclusion agenda.
- Experience in delivering engaging face to face training.
- Experience of working with a HR system (desirable) and being an expert at analysing and manipulating data.
- Excellent Microsoft office skills (predominantly Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- An awareness of how different individuals learn and how to apply this to the delivery of talent programmes and initiatives.
- A good understanding of Talent and L&D processes, models and methodologies.
