Job Description:
This is a job opportunity to work as part of the Human Machine Interface Division (HMID) and help provide the innovation and inventions seen in future years for automotive and industrial design. An exciting opportunity to join the world leader in touchscreen and human interface solutions.
We are looking for new graduates (graduating in 2023) to work as part of the Microchip Human Machine Interface Division (HMID), based in Whiteley, UK. You will be working within the system and R&D group. This position will enable you to contribute to the next generation of the multitouch capacitive sensing devices, known as MaxTouch, from defining the hardware and firmware architecture, supporting new silicon bring-up and characterisation to solving complex technical problems.
An ideal candidate will be a genuine problem solver and analytically minded. You will receive both on‑the‑job and formal training. You will be working in a small but highly skilled team, as part of a wider organization both within the Whiteley office and worldwide.
What makes this an exciting Graduate opportunity?
"All the departments at Microchip interact closely and value communication. They are innovative, open and team focused with many internal development opportunities. The management style here is to coach — they support me when I don’t know which direction to go in and help me perform the way that I want to. It is a really encouraging relationship” – a current graduate at Microchip.
If you are seeking to start your career in the dynamic and fast-paced world of semi-conductors, Microchip can help you make the most of your hard-earned education. We understand and want the unique competencies, experience, and skills that fresh minds such as yours bring to our business. We seek graduates with high levels of innovation, technical ability, superior communication skills, and enthusiasm. We will support you in your role from both a personal and technical perspective, through one-to-one mentoring, on the job training and access to our Microchip Learning Center, while working with the wider team on real-world projects and tasks.
Graduates will also join our three-month Microchip New College Graduate Programme which runs twice a year. The programme allows you to be involved in learning and development sessions with other EMEA graduates, giving you the opportunity to develop business acumen and be involved in cross-functional teamwork.
