Medical Assistant Needed

Job description
At Brashear Family Medical we strive to provide patient care that sets us apart from the rest. We are
currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support our Family Practice. Full-time positions
available. The position requires excellent communication, phlebotomy skills, and willingness to cover
front or back office. Working flexible hours, possibly until 7:00 p.m. up to twice weekly and an occasional
Saturday morning, will be necessary. Compensation is hourly based and dependent upon experience.
We offer medical/dental coverage, paid holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan. Please submit resume

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Communicate with patients on Chronic Care Management
Process med refills
Contact patients to schedule wellness and preventive care appointments
Be a team player with other Medical Assistants supporting our family practice
Direct patients to exam rooms, obtain vitals, medical history, current medication list, and prepare
patients for exam or procedure
Phlebotomy and performing in house lab tests
Administer injections and vaccines
Communicate with patients by phone and in person
Submit prior authorizations to insurance
Assist with scheduling patient appointments and answering phones
Assist providers in performing other patient care duties
Keep lab and exam rooms clean and well stocked
Cover for other Medical Assistants and Front Office Staff when necessary
Comply with OSHA requirements including universal precautions, hazardous waste and sharps disposal
guidelines
Maintain effective working relationships with other staff members
Be willing to adjust schedule as necessary to assist with staffing needs
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the Personnel Policy guidelines
Experience
At least one year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office
Experience with EMR systems; knowledge of eClinicalWorks is a plus
Experience with Phlebotomy is required
Experience giving injections and taking vitals is required
Effective oral and written communication is required

• Esthetician experience a plus!

Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
