Role Title: Security Operations Co-Ordinator (SOO)
Department: Security
Responsible to: Airport Security Manager (ASM)
Role purpose:
Reporting to the Airport Security Manager you will be responsible for monitoring and co-ordination of all aspects of security operations across the Airport, ensuring the Company meets its obligations for compliance under the National Aviation Security & Training Programmes (NASP/NASTP).
Working closely with the Head of Security, and the security management team to and rectify any Compliance or Operational issues which may arise from internal audits and quality assurance processes.
Principal Accountabilities / Main Responsibilities:
Corporate
To assist the Security Management Team in delivering corporate strategy in relation to aviation security to ensure all passengers receive a consistently high-quality service to create an atmosphere which encourages commercial spend and generate repeat business.
- To promote and embed a security culture fit for LBA with a Symantec outlook to future challenges and changes as directed by the management team
Aviation Security
To provide support to the Security management to implement and oversee the day-to-day operational challenges ensuring targets are met, the Quality Assurance Programme is productive within the operations and to enable a dynamic approach as to how operational standards are delivered and achieved.
- To be responsible for the oversight and delivery of policy and frameworks ensuring these are implemented within the operation as directed by the ASM.
- To support with in audits of security and training documentation and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- To undertake regular checks, reviews, inspections, and audits of the security operation, and ID Unit, reporting to management concerns about risk, vulnerabilities, and other security exposures, including misuse of Security Operating Procedures and non-compliance
- To undertake CCTV audits in accordance with the LBA quality control schedule
- To Investigate, review and manage all Security Incident reports via Centrik
- To be the responsible person for all Security Operational Procedures (SOP’s) for task related activities and ensure risk assessments relating to tasks are up to date and reviewed.
- Support in the maintenance and delivery of the LBA Corrective Action Plan and review learning outcomes with the Policy and Compliance manager to ensure LBA achieve and aspire to a high quality of compliance.
- Support in RAG and SEG meetings where required
- To deputise for the ASM in their absence
- To provide support, if required, to the Training team in regulatory audits and inspections and support any on-the -job training for security staff.
- Where Internal / external non-compliance are identified, support the Policy and Compliance team with the recommend corrective actions where necessary and perform checks to ensure rectification processes are in place and working effectively.
- Support the Security management team to deliver a Security Culture representative to the industry.
- To provide analysis of operational throughput data as necessary
- Write and deliver concise, accurate and thorough reports on security audit related findings.
- Update and communicate Security Notices (SECNOT) as required.
- To provide support with communicating any legislative change requirements from the DfT and CAA or other regulatory bodies, ensuring adequate operating procedures are created and continually reviewed.
- To provide support with the operational implementation of the Security Management System (SEMs) in accordance with DfT and CAA direction
- Working on initiative with the ASM and to be proactive in forward planning, delivering fast paced responses to tight deadlines
- To carry out any other duties as may be reasonably expected.
