Job description
We are looking for a positive, passionate, and enthusiastic System Administrator to join our team.
Description of Duties
- establish the needs of users and monitor user access, access credentials and security
- monitor performance and manage parameters of the software system to provide fast responses to front-end users
- map out the design of the database
- consider both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
- refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model
- further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements and improve user friendliness
- liaise with software maintenance service provider to resolve any bugs, or malfunction of the system
- maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
- control access permissions and privileges
- Work with the Data Protection Officer to maintain system security, integrity and
- ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
- carry out capacity planning.
- Organise and implement face to face and/or remote training for end users to improve system usage.
- work closely with IT service provider to ensure backup is maintained and resolve any system issues through helpdesk
- Act as the first point of internal contact for any hardware, software and system issues faced by front end users
- Set up new IT equipment for front end user including emails, Microsoft packages, security features etc
- communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
- commission and install new applications and customise existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose
- manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.
Preferred:
Experience working with Business Software and information systems such as ACCESS people planner, Workday, etc
Essential knowledge of programming languages is desirable.
