Panache Care Ltd provides semi-independent accommodation for young people aged 16+ to enable a successful transition to independent living. The provision is staffed 24/7. Our approach is flexible, person-focused and driven by the needs as identified through Pathway and Placement Planning, of each individual young person in our provision.

Purpose of the Post
Due to the growth of the organisation, we are looking for Support Workers who are passionate, understanding, and able to manage young people with challenging behaviours, provide advice, assistance, and support to them. Attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs and to act as an appropriate role model who will be working closely with them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.

Main Duties
The main aim is to support Young Persons (16+ years) to learn to live as independently as possible.
- Ability to assess the practical and emotional needs of a young person in other to draw up a pathway plan to assist in meeting these needs. These needs will include but not limited to, managing, and dealing with young people with challenging behaviours.
- Able to Provide emotional support to young people by listening to their problems and concerns and finding appropriate solutions to their challenges.
- Support our young people with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, washing, budgeting, and weekly shopping.
- Provide practical lessons on life skills and issues centred around health and wellbeing.
- Support young persons to apply for benefits such as housing, apply for jobs, support in filling forms for educational purposes and any other related application concerning a young person.
- Support young people to engage in community events and activities to promote social integration. These will include taking them to the gym, swimming, accompany them to attend appointments etc.
- Prompt and supervise young people to take their medication when on shift as per each young person’s support plan.
- Supporting young people in daily tasks which will include helping to clean their flats and prompting them to undertake their laundry.
- Working as part of a team to ensure all our young people are safeguarding and in meeting the needs of our young people are met in a professional manner.
- Liaise with working together agencies and families of our young people on behalf of the organisation. This may include attending LAC review meetings, sending of weekly reports to social workers etc. Assist them during appointments such as going to the Hospital, Dentist, Optician, CAMHS etc.
- This list is not exhaustive, you may be asked to undertake other duties which are relevant to this post and the running of the service.
This post also requires the holder to have a clean Criminal Records Bureau check. An enhanced DBS will be completed for this role.
Experience
6 months to 1 year working experience with young people.
The role will be based in Aylesbury and Nottingham.

Salary: £10.75 to £11 /hour
Licence: Able to drive with Business Insurance( Preferable)
· Good education with the ability to read and write
· Completed all mandatory Care Certificate.
. Police Report, Skill Worker B1/B2( or Equivalent) in a UKVI approved English course and Tuberculosis test. ( Requirement for oversea applicants)
· NVQ level 2 or willing to complete.
