About us
UCL Mechanical Engineering is pioneering in the development of engineering education, having taught the core discipline for more than 175 years. The department is home to over 1100 gifted students from all around the world, studying on our undergradrate, MSc and PhD programmes. A department in UCL’s Faculty of Engineering Sciences, our research efforts are regarded as world leading or internationally excellent (REF 2022). The department’s research encompasses varied inter-displinary work in four key areas: · Biomechanics · Energy and Environment, · Marine · Materials, Structures and Manufacturing
About the role
The postholder will play a key role in overseeing the communications and marketing strategies and activities of the department in line with those of the faculty and UCL as a whole. Reporting to the Communications, Marketing and Events Manager, the postholder will either lead or support in areas including, but not limited to: designing and producing marketing literature (brochures, flyers, posters etc.); web communications (website, e-newsletters, social media posts, mailing lists etc.); brand and visual identity management; and event co-ordination.
About you
You will have a good understanding and experience of a range digital communication skills applied in a professional context. This could include social media strategy and content, content development including multimedia and developing and maintainance web presence. You will be keen to further your commnications and marketing knowledge and experience and to develop and practice your skills in a top-tier higher education institution, offering opportunities, mentoring and support for your career development.You are a proactive, organised, enthusiastic “can do” person with a love of words and excellent written communication. As good at dealing with administrative and logistical tasks as your are at being creative, you are keen to help us share our stories, celebrate our people and build our community, through our communications and our events.
