MacIntyre
Full Time Shifnal, England 10.5 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Is your career in care as rewarding as it could be? Are you frustrated with unrealistic schedules that leave no time for the people you support?

Why not join MacIntyre? You will work with the same people regularly and have the opportunity to build long term life changing relationships.

We are seeking Part-time Support Workers for our support service in Shifnal near Telford. Experience is desirable but not essential; as full training will be given to those who have a passion to work within this sector. Your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for people to do the things they really enjoy. So you must be a driver with a full clear driver’s license. Don't worry! You won't be racing between appointments.

The various shift patterns through which we provide 1:1 support are:

7am to 4pm

4pm to 10.30pm with sleep-in

9.30pm - 7am

In addition to your £10.50 an hour as base salary, you’ll have the opportunity to work sleep-ins* at £60 per night. You’ll also have the pleasure of receiving the Blue Light discount card and making savings at the checkout, along with other benefits detailed below.

Here in Shifnal, our priority is to ensure people enjoy the lifestyles they desire. The role involves supporting three adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism who enjoy living as independently as possible, maintaining or learning new daily living skills. Their favourite activities include shopping, cooking, arts and crafts, visiting National Trust sites, zoos and farms, local short and longer walks, baking and social events.

Support workers also assist to attend medical appointments and may require support with some aspects of personal care and the administration of medication.

The rota patterns will include the various shifts mentioned above. (Rotas will be available 6 weeks in advance.).

  • If you’re not familiar with it, for a sleep-in shift, you sleep at the person’s home overnight in the spare room, ready to wake up and provide support if someone is restless. In the Shropshire area, we pay £60 per sleep-in.
