Job description
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill a full time permanent Support Worker post in the Blood Sciences Department at Withybush General Hospital.
The post may require participation in the provision of the 7 day service to include Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday hours with appropriate pay enhancements.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the job role but will mainly be involved with specimen reception duties involving receipt, preparation, processing, storage and disposal of clinical laboratory specimens and samples and also the collection of blood samples by venepuncture for analysis from the wards and clinics. The post will be split between phlebotomy clinics for glucose tolerance tests on ante-natal patient’s and specimen reception duties.
Full training will be provided upon commencement.
