Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre is a hospital with a world-wide reputation for excellence in orthopaedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation having treated patients with bone and joint problems for more than 80 years.


We are looking to recruit a Support Services Assistant to join our friendly team to provide an efficient reception service for the patients, visitors, the general public and hospital staff. This is a full-time role based at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4pm.


Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer events by coordinating within the porter, domestic, linen and maintenance teams using the computerised helpdesk system.

  • Record customer requests and ensure all information is passed to the appropriate departments.

  • Answer and provide accurate information to callers promptly.

  • Ensure service requests are passed on to the appropriate department, monitoring and recording progress in dealing with them.

  • Generate management information from the information system to ensure G4S meets the agreed service standards.

  • Ensure all bleeps are kept secure and signed to authorised personnel only.

  • Carry out emergency procedures for cardiac, fire and test the equipment when required (i.e. test bleep).

  • Report system faults in line with the agreed procedures.

  • Book and record requests for taxis.



The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working in an office environment.

  • Flexible and hands-on approach to work.

  • Good understanding of English.
