Job description

Summary

IT Support Engineer(s) needed to join a well-established MSP based in Croydon, to provide both office based and field support for a small IT and telecoms company, assisting both customers and internal staff. This would be a good opportunity for the right candidate as it would provide experience across various areas of IT and telecoms markets in the SME sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

To undertake basic IT support tasks and duties as directed, which may include:

  • Dealing with customer support tickets, first and/or second line support issues.
  • Dealing with telephone calls.
  • Dealing with email correspondence.
  • On-site and remote project work.
  • Maintaining and updating records, time sheets, etc. to assist other staff.

Depending on ability, performance and interest, duties may extend to:

  • Management of IT projects.
  • Administration of M365 and MS Azure platforms.
  • Administration of RMM platform.
  • Research and product testing.
  • Software based telephony and VOIP.

Qualifications Required

  • 5 GCSE grade A* - C, or equivalent, including Mathematics, English and Science.
  • 3 A level grade A* - C, or equivalent, including Mathematics and English (preferred).

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an IT support role.
  • Practical experience with laptops, desktops and peripherals.
  • Client/customer facing experience.
  • Windows operating systems installation and maintenance.
  • PC hardware installation and maintenance.
  • Basic networking skills, TCP/IP, etc.
  • Windows server and domains.
  • Office 365 management.
  • Ticketing and RMM systems.
  • VoIP basics.

General Skills

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
  • Excellent grasp of Mathematics (essential).
  • Excellent communication skills (essential).
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities (essential).
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of customer care.
  • Driving licence (desirable).

Key Details

Location: Airport House, Purley Way, Croydon, CR0 0XZ. Hybrid working options.
Working Week: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 (37.5 hpw)

Note: This role requires occasional work outside of normal office hours, both in the evening and at weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £22,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
