The postholder will be the first point of contact for families wanting to access Family Hub services in Derby city and provide support to navigate the system.
Family Hubs are the latest initiative from Government the Department of Education and Department for Health and Social Care who are working together to support families with children and young people 0-19, (up to 25 for SEND) to access the right services, in the right place, at the right time.
Our vision for Derby’s Family Hubs is to provide families with the integrated support they need to care for their children from conception, throughout the early years, and into the start of adulthood.
These exciting new posts sit within Early Help based within the Family hubs. You must be able to travel to different locations within the City of Derby and may be required to be available and willing to work some evenings and occasional weekends when required.
- We are looking for enthusiastic motivated individuals who can engage with families and support finding the right service when families need it and be an advocate and promote the Family Hub vision “ Stronger families through support and friendship”
- Individuals who know the city well and can help families navigate services by engaging families using a variety of communication techniques and the ability to develop effective communications relating to a range of complex and sensitive issues that target a wide range of stakeholders.
As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
