The Best Connection specialises in supplying flexible workforce solution to the industrial, driving, warehouse, distribution & logistics, construction, retail, food & healthcare sectors throughout the UK.
We are currently recruiting for an individual for the role of a Health and Safety Manager based in Lockerbie, Scotland.
Salary is based upon experience of the individual and will be discuss throughout the hiring process, but my client is looking to offer around £50,000.
Hours worked by the candidates will be required to alternate every 3 months, between 2 set shifts (06:00 to 14:00 and 14:15 to 22:15)
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a management team to ensure safe working practices are followed.
- Maintaining an awareness and understanding of safety and environmental legislations.
- Ensure that relevant sections of the legal register are up to date.
- Assist the site to maintain compliance within health and safety.
- Provide safety advice within the organisation.
- Represent the company in discussions, meetings and audits with the HSE, BSI etc.
- Attend regular management meetings and any other meetings when required.
- Plan and conduct internal audits.
- Manage the incident reporting, action and non-conformity system.
- Plan and carry out investigations.
- Provide safety training to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
- Be a member of the onsite emergency response team including out of hours
Essential Skills
- NEEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Ability to be flexible with working hours
- Member of IOSH
Desirable Skills
- Environmental qualification or equivalent.
- COMAH experience.
- Pollution prevention and Control Regulations experience.
- Trained internal auditor 45001 and 14001.
This role will lead to a permanent role following a successful trial period.
