DSHS FFAA Procurement and Supply Specialist 1
The Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration are currently looking for a Procurement and Supply Specialist 1 to join their team in Lakewood, WA. In this role, you will be part of the CBS3 warehousing team at Western State Hospital, this position is responsible for the procurement, warehousing, inventory, distribution coordination, and surplus/disposal of tagged assets, furniture, and common-used small appliances. The position helps with the coordination of movement of tagged assets and helps manage the hospital’s multi-million dollar fixed asset inventory.

Some of what you'll do:
Independently operates the Inventory Control Warehouse that is used primarily for obtaining, inventorying, storing, and issuing new and used furniture, small and attractive items, and patient belongings- Determines optimum stock levels, reorder points, minimums and maximums for stock on hand
- Orders and issues inventory utilizing DSHS TRACKS and ePMX systems
- With appropriate training, safely operates necessary equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and state delivery vehicles, organizes Inventory Control Warehouse with assistance from other CBS3 warehouse staff as needed, and maintains inventory records of available stock
- Cross-trained to support other warehouses at WSH and SCC as needed
- Performs technical and product research for the procurement of office and patient furniture and related items, entertainment and small electronics, appliances, and ergonomic supplies
- Contacts vendors for pricing and formal quotes, create purchase requests for approval, inputs and updates information into the TRACKS e-Purchasing and Asset Management system, verifies and receives shipments, and provides receiving reports to accounting
- Contacts vendors for warranty replacements and returns as needed
What we're looking for:
- Knowledge of Washington State purchasing laws and requirements
- Experience preparing for and conducting fixed asset inventories
- Ability to organize large-capacity warehouse to the most efficient working arrangement, work within a diverse environment in a respectful and safe manner, maintain accurate property inventory control records, and perform prolonged physical labor
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs; Safely operate power/hand warehouse equipment including a forklift, hand truck, pallet jacks, delivery van, and any other appropriate warehouse tools
- Understand written and oral instructions, estimate and maintain stock levels, and communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word and Excel
Who should apply?
Professionals with an Associate of Arts Degree in Purchasing Management, Business Administration, or closely allied field AND one year of full-time purchasing experience.
Full-time purchasing experience as a purchasing professional will substitute on a year-for-year basis.
