Job description
We have a rare opportunity for an Summer Animal Keeper at Crealy Theme Park and Resort. You must either have previous experience with animals or could suit an animals study student that is working towards your qualifications.
You will be working with our team of keepers caring for our collection of domestic, farm, exotic (reptiles and inverts) and zoo animals. This is a physical hands-on role always ensuring high animal welfare standards. You will also play a key part in delivering our programme of interactive animal experiences, talks and shows.
You are expected to be role models on delivering exceptional guest interactions whilst
Feeding, cleaning and monitoring the health of our animals
Undertaking enclosure maintenance
Undertaking daily cleaning of all areas in the department
Clearing up spillages
Record keeping
Delivering engaging and family focussed talks and presentations about our range of animals
Prepare & present public areas ready for opening and maintain these to a high standard
The ideal candidate will:
Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
Be physically able to be on your feet for extended periods of time
Able to work to deadlines and under pressure
Able to follow correct health and safety requirements
Display confidence in supervising the public
Possess an ability to work independently, without supervision and as part of a larger team and enjoy sharing a passion for giving a great guest experience
This is a seasonal position that requires you to be available to work weekends, during school holiday periods as well as bank holidays.
Hours will be rostered in advance. Flexibility is also required from you as the your rota will also include early starts (7am) and also to meet peak and off-peak demands of our opening.
