Job Overview

We are looking for a Stage Manager to join our team and oversee all theatre departments to ensure our organisation produces the highest quality productions possible.

Stage Manager responsibilities include acting as a liaison between different departments. Ultimately, you will work with children and other support staff to ensure each show is produced in the highest quality possible.

Show Overview

Make Believe Presents Climb! This show will be on stage across 3 venues in London, 1 in Liverpool and 1 in Scotland.

Climb! Is a story of ambition and aspiration delivered through drama dance and songs. It tells that story of four ordinary kids with very different dreams and their awakening to the possibility that for them anything might be possible. Set against the background of a school classroom, Climb! Follows the ambitions of Jack, Ellie, Marlon and Grace, from the real world, to dream world and back again and in doing so shows that whatever anybody else thinks, with big dreams, the right inspiration, and a rocking soundtrack, every dream can come true and every star is reachable in the end!

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with all theatre departments and collate information
  • Supervise the set, lighting, and sound installation
  • Create a prompt script compiled with notes on Actors’ cues and requirements for props, lighting, and sound
  • Make alterations to the set and props between scene changes
  • Cue the Lighting and Sound Technicians
  • Create a risk assessment to ensure the safety of the full company

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Stage Manager or similar role
  • Computer skills and understanding of current technology
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A sharp eye for detail
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Stage Manager
  • Valid Enhanced DBS (Can be arranged via Make Believe)

Overview of working days:

17th&18th June (London)

24th June (Liverpool)

1st July (Edinburgh)

15th & 16th July (London)

18th July & 21st to 23rd July (London)

Availability for all the dates is desirable, but not mandatory as it can be negotiated during interviews.

Accommodation and travel for Liverpool and Edinburgh shows, will be provided.

Pay rate: ranging from £125 per day. Negotiable during interviews.
