Job description
At Payroc, we're building the next generation of capabilities that powers our merchant-first ecosystem. The radical and responsible delivery of value is our mandate. We believe that focused and empowered teams can do great things. You'll find that we're a curious, driven, and pragmatic bunch who believe in outcomes over outputs, and we're looking for like-minded individuals to join us on our journey.
What we're obsessive about:
- Small teams, big things: We'll convey the outcomes our merchants require, provide you with the support and tools to succeed, and then we let you work your magic, with no needless processes to get in your way.
- Develop, grow, thrive: We promote a philosophy where you can develop and grow as an individual and team. We encourage you to approach problems in unique ways, try new techniques, learn from your colleagues and master your craft.
- Real people, real problems: We develop solutions to solve real-world challenges faced by our merchants. Our Team Members collaborate to build the right things the right way. We are curious about how things work, and we believe that sharing ideas and insights leads to better, more innovative products.
As Staff UX Designer, you will be responsible for synthesising company objectives and audience needs for each portfolio product, analysing usability and developing design principles and patterns based on user research and testing. This individual will focus on Payroc's Product and Engineering functions, and therefore experience with software development, quality assurance, and payments industry workflows is highly desirable.
Responsibilities

- Maintaining and iterating upon our design system of components and patterns for use across our products.
- Creating and presenting personas, user journeys, wireframes and prototypes to be used in user research and as templates for final designs.
- Work with other departments to acquire/disseminate information on time.
- Contribute a user perspective and constructive criticism to product design, while working with marketing to convey appropriate brand messaging.
- Liaising with our Product and Engineering departments to ensure quality of final products.
- Improve design maturity within the organisation through presentations and other opportunities to share design thinking.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related position.
- Experience with planning and facilitating remote stakeholder workshops and feedback sessions.
- Experience with user research methodologies such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Familiarity with current mobile technologies (iOS and Android) design trends.
- Experience of using Figma (or a similar prototyping tool).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, jQuery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
