As an instructor you will be working in a busy, physically challenging environment.
Full In-house training will be given, so you do not need climbing experience (although an advantage). You will be expected to adhere to our Health & Safety processes and monitor safety at all times. You will need to be able to work unsupervised at heights and help anxious customers in a safe, reassuring and friendly manner.
Experience in the leisure/outdoor/high-rope industry is preferred but not essential.
10x hour - 40x hours per week available and obviously earn extra hours during busier times holiday periods – Variable working hours are available.
Successful applicants must be available weekends, school holidays and the summer season.
Pension contribution subject to auto-enrolment requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Safety
· Ensure all safety processes and briefings are conducted correctly.
· To use all equipment in a safe manner as trained.
· To undertake PPE and site inspections and record them.
· Fit, remove and inspect PPE.
· To undertake opening and closing checks of activity areas.
· Ensure all participants are safe to participate and understand safety instructions.
· Report and record all accidents and incidents.
2. Customer Service
· Ensure a high standard of customer service, ideally experience of working with customers and offering strong customer service.
· To do everything within reason to minimise customer complaints and maximise our customer satisfaction and enjoyment.
· Occasional reception work and assisting with customer enquiries and bookings.
3. Other
· To assist with marketing as required.
· To read and comply with the company staff handbook.
4. Person Specification
· Safety conscious with a professional outlook.
· Positive, can do attitude.
· Ability to work independently and use initiative.
· Must meet operational standards.
· Experience of working with customers of all ages and backgrounds.
· Familiar with Health & Safety processes and legislation.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· High energy levels, enthusiasm and a great work ethic.
· Computer/till literate.
· Experience of cash/payment handling.
· Must be able to work in an active environment.
· Comfortable with heights.
· Good at working with children and anxious people.
· Ability to deal with difficult customers.
