Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a RC-135 Mission Systems Field Engineer Specialist for our location at RAF Waddington, Lincoln, UK to provide maintenance and sustainment on extremely complex airborne and ground-based systems for the Royal Air Force’s RC-135. These include:
- Sophisticated digital/computer-based systems and associated networks
- RF distribution system, receivers, transmitters, and modems
- Digital and analog recorder systems
- Signal distribution, switching systems, and communications equipment
Essential Functions:
- Must be worldwide deployable with the ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Able to work non-standard and extend hours depending upon customer mission requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. up to 5% of the time and climb ladders daily
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Education and years of experience Or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of computers, LAN networks, RF theory and techniques, radios, and datalinks
- Must have been qualified to troubleshoot/maintain RC-135 mission systems equipment within the last 2 years
- Extremely familiar with commercial and military broadband communication systems
- Active Secret Clearance Required and must have the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance within the first year
- Ability to obtain CompTIA level I certification within the first year
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with signal generators, spectrum analyzers and other advanced test equipment
