We need a diverse workforce to do our best work. We need the makers, the forward thinkers, the problem solvers, and everything in between. That is where you come in. We are looking for a Sr. Build Engineer, New Product Introduction.
Job Summary:
Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement of Final Assembly lines for both PCBA and Final Assembly to support the early build of Prototype builds for development enabling operations more time to develop their employees and development more time to realize Df(x) improvement to design.
- Coordination of all proto and pilot build and lead the evaluation activities.
- Final execution of all Manufacturing Execution System Deliverables including but not limited to PFMEA, GPM, SAP, FTPC validation, Work instruction (Digital and Print), Operator & Maintenance training.
- Compliance and feedback to manufacturing standards established by Process Engineering organization.
- Help drive total ISC / RME productivity by working on projects that help improve our plants' outputs and/or labor and material utilization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with Final Assembly.
- 5+ years of equivalent or closely related engineering experience
- Demonstrated understanding of New Product Introduction process
- Solid understanding of Manufacturing Process and experience engineering troubleshooter
- solid understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems
- Self-directed and able to adjust to changes in priority and scope
- Good written and verbal communications in English
- Proficient using Microsoft Office program
- PMP or similar certifications/experience preferred
Temperament
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects across different product lines and teams. Manage and communicate project timelines and action plans effectively to delivery cost effective test solutions on schedule and budget.
- Lead, coach, and mentor others in within NPI Build team across multiple manufacturing process areas to build cross-functional expertise within the team and partners.
Information Processing Capability (Factors of Complexity)
- Works with some direct supervision
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current trends in the business and operations.
- Simultaneously support multiple business units and manufacturing plants
Accepts Role Requirements
- Some travel is required, typically up to 10-15%.
- Work with multi-location and multi-time zone team, often remotely
