About us
Diversified Education Services (DES) provides executive functioning and academic support to students with various learning styles. We address all short-term school needs proactively, helping students to understand classroom lessons, complete homework, and learn study skills for tests and quizzes. We also address the long-term goal of student independence by promoting skill development in all academic areas, as well as in the areas of time management, organization, test preparation, and self-advocacy. Learning specialists at DES are trained in the latest findings in education, psychology, and neuroscience so they can provide help to students from K-12 who attend both public and independent schools in Greenwich, CT, and the surrounding areas. We conduct all sessions in a one-on-one environment in your home, so your child will receive systematic, explicit instruction that will directly address their individual needs.
Executive Functioning Tutor
- Certification in special education, preferably at the secondary level
- Possessing or in process of attaining a master’s degree in special education or a “relevant” area in education is preferred * All sessions are conducted in the student’s home
- The students range in age from 5th grade to college and, for the most part, have a verbal or non-verbal learning disability and/or ADHD
- Tutors will be hired as independent contractors
- Application of study skills and organizational strategies is required
- Experience in reading and writing remediation is essential
- Although it is not mandatory, certification or experience implementing one of the remedial writing programs such as OG, Wilson, or PAF is beneficial * Although having a math background is also beneficial, you only need to have a working knowledge of math up through 5th grade
I pay significantly more than other tutoring companies. In turn, I am looking for the highest quality professionals who can connect with kids and have the ability to translate what they have learned in the classroom into a one-on-one setting.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
