Job description
Job Description
The Lockton Professional Indemnity Solicitors team deal with Law Firms as their clients and part of their client portfolio renew their insurance policies all at the same time in the year, which means the run up period prior to that renewal date is extremely busy, whilst they get everything in order ready for the renewals.
- Therefore, they hire a team of temps every year to help support team through that busy period. There isn’t a job spec document as such, but to give you an idea, the outbound Sales work will include proactively contacting/ chasing client prospects (which have already been identified so it’s not completely cold) and the associated admin/ database maintenance etc.
- The admin roles support in areas such as database updating, processing and renewal pack collation.
- It’s great first- hand experience working in one of our specialist business units and will give you a good insight into part of our business and the industry. It’s not a guarantee, but we do see successful candidates then becoming permanent associates with us longer term, whether that’s in the same team or elsewhere in the business.
- Key dates:
- Start dates are as follows:
- Sales roles: Monday 26th June
- Admin roles: Monday 1st July
- The last day for all will be Friday 29th September
- Flexibility on those dates:
- Regarding the end date, for the Admin roles, you need to be available through to the end of September. For the Sales roles, again the preference is for availability until the end of Sept, but there may be some flexibility for the right candidate, (but no more than a week).
- The initial weeks in the roles will be compulsory training time. We will require all applicants to be in the office five days a week for the full duration of the roles, i.e. no agile working.
- Time off/ holidays during the roles:
- Whilst the ideal is that candidates will be available for the full duration, if someone has holidays booked in during the period, we won’t rule this out entirely. We understand people may have graduations etc. If we could be made aware prior to the interview process of any dates you are planning to be away, then we can consider on case-by-case basis. That said, our threshold will likely need to be a week away at the maximum, and if any of the holiday falls in September this will not be favourable as it’s a key point in the work period.
Qualification
- Candidate Profile:
- The ability to work well in a team
- Excellent and Articulate Communication Skills - Written and Verbal
- Passion to thrive in a busy office environment
- Confidence to ask questions and query ideas when necessary
- No previous office experience required. This role would suit a school leaver, graduate or student looking for a paid role throughout the summer
