Software Engineer - Fullstack - CS&E Platform

Location: London based with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week

Salary & Benefits: £48,663.00 - £70,291.00 GBP base salary plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Consumer Servicing And Engagement Platform for a Software Engineer. Collaborating with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects and Engineering Leads to build features, fostering the test and learn approach, you will be accountable for ensuring all decisions are made within a sound risk framework and within Group standards.
About you:
You have can-do attitude, interest in exploring technologies beyond your core skills, willing to learn, highly motivated and with a passion for working with people, working in a strong collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our applications. You also enjoy working closely with the product and other engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges. You'll be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.
What we need from you:
Core experience in at least one of:
  • Java with MicroProfile or Spring,
  • JavaScript (Node.js or React)
Experience with some of the following:
  • Relational (SQL) DB and document (no-SQL) DB
  • Second programming language
  • Distributed and scalable applications principles
  • Building RESTful services or Web UI
  • Kubernetes and Linux OS
  • Exposure to continuous integration pipeline and test automation
  • Exposure to public cloud infrastructure
It would be great if you had…
  • Exposure to Kotlin, Go, iOS, Android, Flutter or Rust
  • Experience with Hibernate ORM
  • Exposure to Quarkus
  • Understanding of networking principles, tools and equipment
  • Exposure Linux system admin tools
  • Understanding of Maven
  • Exposure with Python and Big Data technologies including ML
