Job description
As Development Engineering Practice Lead at LV= you will hold full observability of our in-house and outsourced development practices and adherence to our standards. This is a key role in the support and delivery of our LV= Technology Services transformation where you will lead and enable the transformation of the Engineering team.
Working closely with the Head of Engineering you will help shape Development Engineering strategy and standards.
This role will ideally be based on a Hybrid working pattern based in our offices in Bournemouth (ideally in the offices 2 days per week)
About you
- You are a subject Matter Technical Expert in Development Engineering.
- Experience in using agile development assessment matrices to assess development engineering skills and propose improvements
- Substantial experience and expertise in agile delivery techniques and methodologies
- Extensive experience and technical engineering knowledge of a broad range of platforms and web based/cloud formation and distribution, stretching across platforms, consumer products, emerging technology standards, and trends, including defining platform roadmaps and long-term strategic plans.
- Can clearly articulate data engineering concepts, and are able to demonstrate these through a deep level of experience and knowledge.
- The ability to make technical decisions by staying stay abreast of advancements in related technologies.
- Excellent technical judgement and decision making in the context of advancements in related technologies.
- You will possess excellent influencing and communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss, and explain issues coherently and logically, both in writing and verbally to internal, external and senior leadership stakeholders.

- Accountable for the implementation of LV standards within engineering services
- Ability to enable the adherence and observability of the LV= standards to improve customer satisfaction and looking for ways to relentlessly improve
- Developing and maintaining the LV= Engineering Knowledge Base either directly or indirectly through influencing the outsourced engineering teams to self-document
- Sell the benefits and encourage adoption of improvements to development engineering both internally within LV= and to outsourced functions
- Actively encourage and foster Innovation
- Coach and mentor our in-house development roles for them to adopt DevSecOps practices.
- Identify and help to implement ways of monitoring, Process Time, Rework and Lead Time per team with a view to consistently report on Flow to enable all teams to see where they can improve
- Support training sessions or training platforms to broaden the knowledge and adoption of DevSecOps practices
- Develop and monitor OKR's showing the continuous improvement towards mastering DevSecOps practices
