Software Development Engineer III

The Quality Centre of Excellence tech team is responsible for creating the best tools/frameworks and solutions to meet Expedia Group’s Software Quality goals and keep our customers happy.

In the Quality Centre of Excellence team, we work tirelessly to improve the QCE Platform by creating necessary tools, frameworks and solutions required to keep our software releases defect free on a continuous basis. Solutions including Test Data Enrichment, Automation Frameworks, AWS/DevOps work, AI/ML based products, Data Quality, etc.

What you will do:

• Engineer scalable, fault tolerant software for solving problems in Quality Engineeringdomain across Expedia Group pages

• Understand the problem space of Quality Engineering, come up with scalable and cost-effective solutions that would work for the entire org.

• Develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software

• Take initiative to describe and build new projects that simplify existing problems.

• Use and contribute to reusable libraries for placing and loading advertising products, and make suggestions for improvements.

• Communicate with other technical teams, and leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and review technical designs

Who you are:

• Deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multi-threading concepts

• Structured approach to design, build, launch, and maintain scalable software systems, including measuring, monitoring and testing

• 2+ years experience with Java development experience.

• 2+ years experience with JavaScript development, demonstrating a proficient understanding of the language

• Understanding of the Principles of Quality Engineering

• Experience developing in AWS. Preferred: S3, K8s or ECS/Docker, AWS Lambda, Elastic Search

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
