Higher Education – Quality and Development Lead (Group)
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill) and John Ruskin College (Croydon)
Salary: Competitive (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week)
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Higher Education Lead to take leadership on the strategic development and quality assurances of the University Centre at Orbital South Colleges.
As Higher Education Lead, you will take ownership in developing and expanding the College’s higher level education provision to ensure a year-on-year increase in the number of viable course and students across both colleges whilst proactively looking to expand, develop and provide an innovating offer to meet local, national and regional needs.
Being part of the management, you will take responsibility for academic quality assurance, implementing systems with external quality assurance requirements and other regulatory frameworks.
As part of your role, you will enhance best practice in curriculum delivery both on site and with sub-contractors ensuring teaching and learning follows the most up to date and highly effective pedagogical practices.
The successful candidate must have:
- A Degree (First of Upper Second)
- Teaching qualification
- Experience of HE curriculum development
- Experience of quality assurance including lesson observation or actively supporting teaching and learning within the FE/HE educational setting
- Knowledge of FE/HE sector, including qualification reform, inspection, and funding
- Ability to coordinate and successfully deliver on complex and competing demands
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Willingness to work flexibility and to travel and work across college sites and the UK to drive recruitment forward
