About the Job
Your challenge? To help our Global Experience Manager to build on and deliver the University’s ambitious and values driven internationalisation strategy, including the Turing Scheme, Online International Learning and other related projects by effectively collaborating with partner institutions. But that’s not all. An exciting and varied role, it will see you deal with admissions and student administration, support Study Abroad and inbound exchange students, help organise student events and much more besides. On any given day you could be administering applications, responding to queries, providing advice, helping to organise an orientation programme for students or keeping records up-to-date. And, when it comes to carrying out general office duties like mail management, responding to telephone and personal callers; or servicing team meetings and events, again, we’ll rely on you.
About You
To succeed, you’ll need to be educated to A level or equivalent and have experience of working in a customer-focused HE environment, possibly in a Study Abroad/Student Exchange setting. Great at prioritising and managing your time to meet deadlines and comfortable managing multiple tasks, you have excellent attention to detail and the all-round communication skills it takes to deal with individuals at many levels, in the University and externally. What’s more, you have a flair for proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and implement improvements to enhance service delivery and are adept at analysing problems and finding potential solutions. Sensitivity in dealing with international and study abroad students from different backgrounds is important too, as is the ability to work in a small team and on your own initiative, while your IT skills should include proficiency in word-processing and familiarity with database packages and spreadsheets.
