Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking a Social Media Assistant.
The Social Media Assistant will support the Social Media Manager across the development of the Globe’s social media channels. This role will work directly to create organic social media content and continue to engage and grow our online communities. This role will also support across the wider Audiences team in email marketing, multimedia content creation, crisis communications and website management.
The skills required for this role are:
- An excellent eye for detail and an ability to proofread and edit text, and to ensure that communications follow our core messaging and brand guidelines.
- Adaptable and flexible, a creative and innovative thinker and ‘out of the box’ problem solver.
- Able to write engaging copy for different audiences.
- Good communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally.
- Good analytical skills and able to present data and findings in a clear and logical manner.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines whilst working in a busy environment.
- Able to build solid working relationships internally cross-organisationally and with external suppliers to work collaboratively as part of a team and ensure all work is spotlighted.
- Knowledge and awareness of trends in digital marketing.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Prior experience in Social Media or Marketing or a strong knowledge and awareness of trends in digital marketing.
- Basic understanding of video editing for TikTok platform, including current trending sounds.
- Able to support in organic content creation around Globe activity.
- Able to film informal ad hoc content on a phone.
- Take an audience-centric approach to curation and creation of content
- Help to curate, conceptualise and develop social media ideas in line with the social media strategy.
The Audiences Department includes the Marketing and Digital teams, as well as Press/PR, Ticketing and Sales, Retail and Visitor and Audience Operations. They all own the customer journey from start to finish and strive to be insight driven, customer focused and digital first in approach.
The Marketing team includes a Campaigns team working across all of our output, a Design and Brand team, a Data, Insight and CRM team and a Social Media team. They work together to deliver shared audience and revenue targets for the whole organisation.
