Vibrant, energetic dog walker required to join the team here at Handy Dog Walker.
We are dog lovers through and through, and thrive on the knowledge that we provide some of the best walks in town. In order to expand our service so more lovely pups are able to enjoy the sociable, fun walks we do, we are on the lookout for a new team member.
We need someone with bags of energy who is absolutely committed to providing the best fun for the dogs as possible. You must be well experienced with dogs and willing to learn more as the company grows. You must be able to drive and have use of your own car or van. This job is on a self-employed basis and paid per walk. You must have a full driving licence and a vehicle to transport dogs.
You are responsible for keeping your vehicle roadworthy and insured to ensure the dogs safety plus a DBS check as entering customer homes.
Our basic walker requirement is the confidence and strength to walk four boisterous Labradors on the lead, as our clients range from Great Danes to Daschunds Absolute confidence around all breeds is a must, and you should be able to deal with all eventualities on a walk, from poo picking to a doggy scuffle (All our pups are friendly, but this is always a risk when walking in public spaces with dogs).
This job involves collecting our customer dogs and taking them for walks returning them home.
This involves checking the home for any accidents or potential dangers, securing the dog for safe travel, being very vigilant with their well being, spotting risks on walks. You will be required to walk in all weathers and get stuck in playing with the dogs, you will get muddy, wet and sweaty! You will need to be able to easily identify dog to dog behaviour and most importantly - you must be pack leader.
Walking hours are between 10.00am and 15.00pm, Monday - Friday.
We are a small, close-knit team and need someone committed for the long term to minimise disruption to our clients.

- Treat each pet as if it were your own ensuring that their welfare needs are met at all times.
- Pick up and dispose of appropriately all pet waste.
