The Opportunity

We are looking for a Sustainability Senior Manager to provide analysis, insight, and recommendations to support EDF (UK)’s strategy development. Working with all areas of the UK business and with EDF Group you will be delivering high-value projects and driving the EDF UK sustainability strategy.

Strategy and Sustainability aims to provide exceptional work to support our long-term strategy and sustainability ambitions across multiple business areas, with EDF Group and in support of the UK Executive Team.

Please ensure a cover letter is included within your application when applying, to explain why you would be great for this role.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary starting from £73,200 and a market-leading pension scheme, we offer a range of flexible benefits to support our people across all aspects of their lives.

Your rewards package includes a choice of benefits, such as electric vehicle leasing, enhanced parental leave, health insurance, discounts, and employee pricing.

Flexible working means you can work from home (if you wish) and we’ll provide a suite of IT equipment to ensure that you can work remotely comfortably and effectively. Most members of our Sustainability team are based in London, with some travel to other EDF locations.

Dan, Head of Customers Policy & Regulations says ‘You never fully know what to expect when you start a new role but joining the team at EDF has been a hugely positive experience. I have found a team and organisation that is friendly, welcoming, and supportive. Simultaneously they manage to be hard-working, diligent, and focused on delivering the right outcomes for customers and the UK. At a time when many are struggling and the energy sector is under enormous pressure, I have also been hugely impressed with EDF’s approach to looking at its staff, going above and beyond what you may expect elsewhere.’

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you’ll be doing

As the Sustainability Senior Manager, you will be accountable for defining scope and delivering work on a range of topics whilst sharing technical expertise and promoting innovation across areas of sustainability.

You will manage key sustainability projects and workstreams, drive internal and external awareness and engagement on sustainability and support business areas in developing their individual sustainability plans.

You’ll need to maintain a strong understanding of relevant sustainability credentials, initiatives, and practices to enable you to identify priorities and present compelling business cases for action reflecting business realities, helping to develop the sustainability strategy.

You will also support the development of climate change adaptation plans including agreeing project outcomes and ensuring delivery with relevant stakeholders.

Who you are

As the Sustainability Senior Manager, you will have an excellent understanding of current and emerging sustainability issues and will be able to identify implications for our business from sustainability regulations.

You will be experienced in creating and delivering compelling sustainability communications with the ability to analyse complex business landscape and identify strategic options to recommend pragmatic solutions.

You will be comfortable working with colleagues across the organisation to collate and analyse data to inform your recommendations and to ensure EDF fulfils relevant reporting requirements for internal and external purposes.

We’re looking for someone with excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills who is comfortable to interact at senior levels both internally and externally to engage business leaders on sustainability and to drive the sustainable business programmes.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
